I love the food at Thailand Cafe. The lunch menu is very inexpensive. For $5.95 you can have a complete meal. The Pad Gra Pao with Thai basil was especially delicious. Even the pad Thai was wonderful. For $5.95 you can never go wrong. I particularly recommend the Thai ice tea. It is so refreshing. Thailand Cafe is my favorite restaurant in New York City. This was our favorite Thai restaurant in NYC!! We ate there as often as we could. The spring rolls are amazing and the lunch special is great! Less than $6 for salad, entree, rice, and a spring roll. Very good portions and good service. And, being vegetarian, we were pleased that the pad Thai doesn't have fish sauce in it!! Even our friend who lived in Thailand said it was the best she'd had! Thailand Cafe is truly a New York City bargain. Pad Kee Mao is delicous. I especially enjoyed the Steamed Thai Dumpling. This is a variant of the Chinese shu mai. The Steamed Thai Dumpling is made from chicken. Another favorite is the pad Thai. The food has improved dramatically since new owners have taken over. It is cheap. Only $5.95 for lunch.
