I've eaten here probably three times and three strikes your out. The food is great but the service is absolutely HORRIBLE! The young girl working there today was not happy to be there. NO drink refills, no help with the menu and she even had the nerve to mutter something under her breath when I couldn't hear her from accross the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Tup TIm where you will be treated with respect. I will never go to the place again. Too bad, considering the food was good. Keep in mind the lack for service was not because they were busy. It was mid day and we were the only people there!! Don't make your kids work at the place if they hate it, before yo u know it you won't have any more customers...

The food is pretty good, and they really do make it spicy..not just hot, but full of different flavors. However, the apathetic service has a sense of entitlement, and they will often not pick up their phone to avoid orders for delivery/pick-up. Although the food is good, horrible service can leave a really bad taste in your mouth.

Best Thai around! I made the mistake of going across the street to Tuptim one day and was so disappointed - their massaman was oily and missing some of my favorite ingredients that Banh Na adds and their Pad Thai was so bland. I corrected my mistake two days later by going to Banh Na. I already knew I loved them, but their prices, portions and taste after going somewhere else is enough to not have me stray again. They're a family business and I've never had trouble with their service as a previous poster has.

This is the best food in the Ann Arbor are and at great prices too. Almost all of the dishes I have asked about can be ordered as vegetarian options. Be warned, "spicy" is actually spicy here. Easily the best Thai restaurant in area as well. Try it!!!

Stopped in with my family on a Saturday afternoon in August. The facility looked clean and well kept but was curiously empty. As we entered I noticed the air conditioning was not on and it was hotter insde then it was outside. Sitting in front of the cash register was a sullen-looking cook/waiter/?. He neither smiled nor greeted us in any way and we sat down at a table. He begrudgingly sulked (I'm NOT exagerrating!) to the table and DROPPED the menus on the table. We thanked him as he ignored our thanks and silently shuffled off. He then returned with glasses of water, literllay *plunking* them down onto the table, and again sulked off without a sound nor any acknowlgement to your "thank you"s. Although we were excited to try Thai but we got up and left. I told him "no thanks" and left a dollar for the water. He simply sat in his chair and sulked silently. Sheesh!... I guess business is slow on Saturday and he wasn't happy to be working that day. Who knows? Who cares? We took our business accross the street to Pita Pita and had and outstanding Middle-Eastern meals. I felt bad for the poor chap at Banh Na but not bad enough to ever darken their door again.

As a full time student at Eastern, good food is short to come by. Luckly for me, Bahn na is located just down the road. Their excelent menu has plentiful entres and keeps me coming back for more.

The Thai food is superb--just like Thailand. Far better and more consistent than the posher place (Tuptim) across the street. larb gai is the best in town and Pad Kee Mao is spectacular with all the right fresh spices. Wendy runs the front and her mom cooks in back, so it's a small family operation. Lucky for me, I work 2 blocks away.

it is the place ...the best thai/laos food we have eaten. we eat at this restaurant at least 3 times a week. it is one of the few restaurants that will adjust the salt in the dishes for those who have special diets. The owners who are also the chefs do the home cooking style for the food served. Anytime we eat there, the food is always delicious. If there is a demand for Pho dishes the chef will include the dish in their menu.

The Food is great. It is family owned and has good service. One of the best Laos and Thai food out here in Ann Arbor. Eating the food there reminds me of my homeland back in Thailand.
