Ate at Tanque Verde location. Service was horrible, the pot stickers (appetizer) was delicious. I ordered Combination Pad Thai which was delicious. However, my friend ordered the Red Curry. It came in a small bowl and was tasteless and had a few bell peppers and bamboo shoots in it. When asked, how was everything, she explained that she didn't like the Curry and it was tasteless...she wanted to order Pad Thai in it's place. Next thing you know, the owner/chef? came out and asked what was wrong with the Curry. She explained it was tasteless. After being accused of eating the majority of it (which was a lie) he said he couldn't give her Pad Thai as it would take too long and that the kitchen was VERY busy (although there were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant). He told us to leave when we were done. HOW RUDE!!!!! I would NEVER recommend this place nor eat there again. Our party was 3 adults. Our waitress completely ignored us after the complaint, and never refilled our drinks, asked if we wanted anything else, etc. We did not expect our meals for free...as mentioned, the appetizer and my dish was perfect.

I had eaten at China-Thai many times over the last 5 years and always enjoyed good service and excellent food. I especially like their Pad Thai and Sesame Beef. I think you will enjoy the restaurant.

It's been over a year since we were here, but things have changed due to new ownership. The service went downhill, the place was a mess, a worker was at the counter reading when we ate next to a dirty table the whole meal!! We thought asians took pride in their work. Didn't feel the need to tell management, he was even rude to his employees. Food was good but we can get better. Try Char's Thai.

Since the owners changed hands -- the quality of food has gone down hill. Small portions, lukewarm tea, even the pad thai had very few ingredients besides the noodle and green onions in it. THUMBS DOWN. dec 2007

My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant many times, (both dine in and delivery). I am especially fond of a dish (that I dont' remember the name of), but is basically a crispy fried trout with a red chili sauce. Awesome. I have many times thought of asking for lessons on how to make this dish, as I have friends who live up north and we trout fish together. They always insist on batter frying trout fillets southern style. (Blah. What a waste.) Wish I could suprise them by whipping up this dish!

Reading a restaurant review is very subjective. Everyone has different tastes. Every diner will have a different experience. It's all relative. My wife and I have been in Tucson for 2 years now and have finally tried China-Thai this past Saturday evening (10/27/07). I cam across this web site by accident because I was curious if there were any reviews on this restaurant. After reviewing the previous comments, I agree with the manager Mary-Ann. You can't please every customer. At first, I did not want to submit any comments but I changed my mind. I will try and be objective in giving my feedback. My wife and I enjoy trying different restaurants. I would say in the past 2 years in Tucson, we have frequented over 100 restaurant establishments. We have traveled 45 minutes to an hour to different places. We found our server to be pleasant, friendly and attentive. Very important qualities. We ordered the thai spring rolls, chicken pad-thai and curry chicken. They were acceptable. The thai spring rolls came out room temperature. Perhaps, they were supposed to be that way. The chicken pad-thai did not come out "steaming" hot like the curry chicken. So, my guess is that dish sat around longer before being served. The chicken in both dishes appear to have been cooked in the same manner. My guess boiled and then tossed into the sauce. But, it still tasted bland inside. Is it supposed to be stir-fried first and then coated with the sauce? The chicken pad thai did not have enough color contrast presentation. Not enough bean sprouts or fresh scallions. No crushed peanuts on top. The dish looked bland - one color. My recommendation is to serve all food "HOT". It's a tough call if the other dishes on the order is not ready. However, if you're in the mood for thai food, give China Thai a try. One more thing, we were told by many people to try this restaurant. We did not hear anything negative. However, I would like to know if anyone knows where all the Asians dine? We have tried so many restaurant establishments, we have not found one place where we'll find more than a handful of Asians. I hope I was fair and objective.

I've had many great meals at this restaurant, as well as many take outs delivered efficiently. Although forgetting the rice was a significant error in the case of the customer Lorrie, it's blatantly obvious that Lorrie's intellect is lacking a lot more than the her order was. Don't listen to this moron, give them a try.

My friends and I ate here about 3 months ago. Even though we had a large party, the food came out quickly and it was a pretty good experience.

In my two years managing a restaurant, I never have been so upset with a customer before Lorrie. Let me explain my side of the story.. Lorrie called in for a delivery and my driver forgot to pack her rice. Lorrie called me and brought the concern up to my attention. After I apologized for the inconvenience, I sent one of my drivers who was off duty enjoying his dinner that night to bring the rice to her. By the time I hung up with her, my off duty driver had her rice packed and was out the door. According to mapquest, it takes approx 6 min to get to her house, my driver was there in 8 min due to traffic. Lorrie called the restaurant 5 times in that 8 min time frame complaining even after I assured her the rice was on the way. Lorrie wanted me to remake her $65 order over again and I refused because my off duty driver was close to a minute away from her house. (So she doesn't own a microwave?) At the 5th phone call Lorrie asked me if I was oriental, I told her no that I was Asian. She then told me that my parents did not raise me right because every oriental should know that you cannot eat oriental food without rice. After that rude unnecessary comment...I told her that I didn't know what else to do to make her happy so I will refund her credit card $65 just please do not ever call back again so then I hung up. Lorrie ended up calling our establishment non stop all evening harrassing and insulting my employees. I never had to refuse service to ANYONE before and believe me, I have dealt with some crazy people. I excel in customer service and strive to make every customer happy. All I ask is that you leave my family out of it, they have nothing to do with my job. If you ask anyone who had to deal with me, their response would be positive, I gaurantee it. So please understand my side of the story and do not let Lorrie's erratic behavior shy you away from dining at our restaurant.

We just had $80.00 of food delivered which was to specifically to include white rice for 5. The rice was missing and when I called to tell them it was missing, the Manager, Mary Ann, hung up and me and told me not to call back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are very rude and demeaning to their customers. They finally brought the rice 45 minutes later after most of the food was gone. All my guests complained and I called to see if the restaurant could deliver new meals with the rice since the food was cold to hear Mary Ann bitch at me about the cost of the food. I haven't had such a bad experience in over 20 years. I asked to speak to the owner, whom they said was Jay Healy, but they told me he is not in often. This establishment should be reported to the BBB. We had a terrible meal and then the rice came. It is hard to believe that there are Managers like Mary Ann working when so many good honest people need work. She should be fired. The food was cold and everyone was afraid to eat the rice due to the way they treated us, although there was little left to eat with the rice because the restaurant refused to send hot food with it.
