Green Papaya

I've been around Reno, been to the large majority of Thai places in Reno, and have sampled in other places in the country. None of the other places I have ever been have been this good. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and warm towards the customers, and the food is superior to anything else I've had in the Thai cuisine. Their pad Thai, which has an incredible combination of spices and sauce, is enough to make one keep coming back again and again without even changing the items on the menu. It was so incredible that I ended up as a regular, coming at one point several times in a week, frequently having the Pad Thai I had so enjoyed in my first foray into the restaurant, and I know I was not the only one who was frequently there. green papaya truly deserves to be listed amongst the best restaurants in Reno, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I stopped in here while in Reno and were VERY impressed. Small place, nice staff, great food. We were getting take-out and told the girl we had been working hard all day moving a friend. She promptly made us sit down and brought us ice water and then engaged in some great conversation with us (early evening on Thursday and they weren't busy). We ordered Tahi spring rolls, which were huge and absolutely wonderful (especially the sauce); a stir-fried spinace Fai Pang, which would be a great spinach dish for almost any type of food; the Thai salad with chicken, and the panang curry with chicken. All the dishes were brought promptly, were VERY fresh, and the tastes were just absolutely wonderful. It was truly a great meal. After we got home and ate we called the restaurant back to let them know how much we enjoyed it. If you are living in Reno and looking for some great Thai food, you have to catch this place. We are from Austin, TX where there is a large Thai presence and some wonderful places. green papaya would stak up against anything I have had there or anywhere else
