I have been a client of Saffron restaurant for a few years, most of the time I go to the take out and were always pleased with the food and service. Yesterday I went with my husband for luch to the restaurant side, and we ordered: 3 shrimp rolls, one ordered #34, one side order of chicken skewer, which consisted of one skewer for $4dls. plus one order of chicken fried rice and three drinks. My receipt # is 0849 on 9/25/04 at 2:43pm. The total of my bill was $29.04. When my order came to my table I told the server that I was missing the extra chicken skewer I showed him my receipt. He brought me an extra plate with the missing skewer. then I noticed that my order was missing the jasmin rice that comes with order #34. he said to me "you have it already" I asked him: "where?". He showed me the fried rice, I told him to look at the receipt again and showed him that I had ordered one fried rice plus one combination which includes the jasmine rice, then he preceded to tell me that I already ate it!. I, by this time was preetie upset and said: Are you crazy?! "no, he said, you are crazy". Then I asked the other cooks: "what is his name?" "oh, we don't know" but I over heard someone call him Jose, he is a young Mexican male. I am also Mexican, and could understand everything they were saing. Another man, cook or I don't know who, came to the table and apologized, he told me that the cashier was in training. I told him that the cashier did not do anything wrong! It was the server. I showed him my receipt and explained to him what was happening. Jose came over while I was explaing the receipt and what happened to the order. Jose pointed to the extra empty plate, that he brought after I pointed out that a skewer was missing and said "see, she ate it or he ate it, my husband was eating his fried rice and skewer, and I pointed out that the jasmin rice comes in a bowl, "where is the bowl of rice for order #34?. The other gentelman apologized and looked at my receipt again, and said: you order 3 shrimp rolls but those are salmon rolls. I have not noticed that myself. Jose never apologized. I could not eat my lunch at all, and lost my apetite not only for lunch, but for thai food altogether. This is the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. I could not find anyone to complain to, no one was wearing name badges or no contact information available to address this problem. I am extending myself and taking the trouble to try to find someone to address this. I would like an apology from Jose. I have been to this restaurnat many times and have always found the food to be very good and service to be friendly. The peanut sauce is one of the best around town. I commend them for the quality and taste of the food.
