Bangkok Sala Cafe

I don't intend to go tit for tat with Bandkok Sala Cafe, seeing that prior to this incident I thought very highly of their product and service, despite other reviews that I have read out there. I think that if you called into a place and told someone there was a bug in your food and they treated you like you had it in your pocket and put it there saying "what the hell???" you'd be pissed too. Not to mention the tone in which I was spoken to. I applaud the rest of your patrons that have continued to support you, as for the health department... They did call me back informing me that you all received 2...TWO citations. I mean that's fine that you make me out to be the bad guy, no problem, but again the bottom line is that you all have BUGS!!! Finally, I have have seen establishments refund an entire order for something as simple as a hair being in someone's food, so go figure since you're independent you feel like you can do as you wish. As far as cooking a bug goes, you all have seen the TV show Bizzarre Foods... bugs don't always burn, but one things for sure that bug was black and balled up, leaving me to believe that he died in the fire!

In response to Michelle; you actually were very rude when you called. We can understand that you are upset, however, screaming and shouting, hooting and hollering and extensive use of profanity is not the way to go about the issue. We have no problems what so ever with the health department or any other legal governmental department for that matter. The bug that you claimed to have been in our food was in perfect condition. Had it came from our kitchen and cooked into your food, with all the seasonings and sauces, and the high amount of fire and heating- it would have surely not looked like that. We did not return your money for the entire order simply because--you didn't bring back the entire order. Anywhere you go, either in the food industry or in retail or whatever, if you want a refund for something, the item must be present and because you failed to bring back the entire order, we have no interests in refunding the order entirely. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their continuous support and patronage. -B

This place treats you like sh*t!!!
There was some sort of dead bug in my food with all it's legs. It wasn't like it fell in it had all the seasoning and had been cooked. I called the restaurant, they got mad at me for being upset. Their clame was that it was a mistake and I should be more understanding. To add insult to injury they wouldn't even refund the entire order, because we had eaten the spring rolls and one of the entrees had been eaten. Bottom line THEY HAVE BUGS AND COOK THEM WITH THE RICE!!!!

I go to most Thai Restaurants in the area. Bangkok Sala is one of the very best!! The only one to compare is The Thai House on Gratiot on the eastside.

Great food! Pretty cool atmosphere too...
