Outside of the lacking spaces to park, True Thai is a welcome addition to the Twin Cites as far as Thai food goes. This storefront was a Thai restaurant before and it wasn't that good (Mee Krob served with oyster sauce and Chow mein noodles...how gauche!). The place is nicely decorated and the food and service are wonderful. When I asked for Krueng Rueng to spice my dishes, the server came out with the ring of spices that I was used to getting at Thai restaurants in the LA/Orange County area. Their curries are good and have a smooth flavor. pad Thai is good even though I never order it but the 4 year old loves it so I get it for her. And their Thai Beef Jerky is wonderful and is complemented nicely with a side of sticky rice, just like what my relatives in Petchabun eat. All in all, this is another Thai place that would get my endorsement. Come early on the weekends as this place gets really crowded on the weekends. My only regret is that they were not around when I was attending Augsburg College. Otherwise, I'd be eating there at least once a week. What a delightful experience we had on Valentine's Day. The food was exceptional, especially the spring rolls and Choo Chee Curry (we had scallops!). The portions were generous and the service gracious and attentive. Definitely would return when we are in Minneapolis again.
