I disagree about the waitstaff. As a waitress myself, I know what it's like to work in a restaurant with unpredictable business. I have always had great service, even when the restaurant was full and there were only two servers on staff. If a server has to handle take-out, hostessing, and cashing-out, as well as preparing drinks and desserts, and all the little questions in-between, give them a break, take a break from your own American-bred impatience, and relax a little! Good food is worth the wait, and a little compassion goes a long way. Nicole

I have found that each of my visits to Tantra have consistently gone down hill. I agree about the waitstaff, on my last visit we walked out after not even having a waiter approach us to give us menus. We walked out and will not be back. There are too many places to get so-so food without the poor service. Marco

I like the food, but I find the staff to be slow and indifferent to your dining experience. Especially if you order something to pick up. If you ask them how long, they'll say 20 minutes, but guaranteed when you get there to pick your dinner up, it will take 5 minutes before someone comes over to see if they can help you, another 5 minutes for them to run around and realize your food wasn't cooked yet, then another 20 minutes for you to sit there while they cook it (during which time no one will offer you a glass of water or even let you know they haven't forgotten about you). In short - if you have all fucking day to wait for good food, by all means this is the place to go. Ron Manganiello

The menu looked promising, however: -the service was terrible - the waitress knew nothing about the food and the drinks menu and was rude -although the green curry was very good, -the soup was way too salty and not fresh -inspite having repeated three times that want the beef basil stir fry extra spicy - got it mild, and so salty that was impossible to eat. the beef was very tough and hard to chew and not too fresh either. disgusting. do not go there. i hope they will close soon. This place is great. Don't go in there expecting to be in and out in 20 minutes. The food always takes its time, but it's always good as hell. Their soups are great and i love the small hot pot dishes (the salmon & squid one is the best). It's kinda pricey, but worth the visit. I've had mixed success with the service, but going in there knowing you'll have a long, relaxing meal that will satisfy takes care of any issue... like an earlier review said- just chill out and relax...
