This is--and I believe I have tried nearly all of them--the best--bar none--Thai restaurant in the greater Washington area! They prepare food that is authentically Thai. No one makes a better Massaman Thai Curry or a better Tom Yum Goong (lemon grass soup w/shrimp), for example. The food arrives quickly. Service is attentive. Prices are reasonable.

This is probably one of my top-three favorite restaurants in town, but I really wish they would hire more servers. The service is abysmal, so give yourself a lot of time. But the food is excellent!

I would also like to second the fact that BG is completely settled into their new location and the food and service are just as good as the original. Their prices are slightly higher, but it's still one of Columbia's most economical nice dinners out.

I also went to Bangkok Gardens before and after their move, but I gave them a few weeks to get settled in. The 4 different dishes delivered to our table (on a Thursday night) were as good as before. My #8 spicing was right on, as always.

I have been going to Bangkok Gardens for six years and I have loved it, until today! Three weeks ago they opened a new location, and it looked great, lots more seating etc. Too bad the food and service was horrible! Out of nine people at the table 4 were not able to eat their meal because it was disgusting. Another perons in my party had the same thing I did (#3 Laad Nahn) and they didn't even look closely realated. It looked like someone scooped limp noodles and diswater onto a plate and set it in front of me. I ordered a #6 HOT and it was not seasoned at all. Of course, I spoke with the manager who told me that he was "Disappointed that I couldn't understand that they were not settled in the new location yet." I was there for an hour and a half, had poor service, bad food and then the manager said he was dissappointed with ME?! Bad deal, but I guess I'll have to try the other Thai place in town.
