When it comes to Thai food, my husband and I consider ourselves connoisseurs. We have tried dozens of Thai restaurants looking for authentic Thai food. There aren't many Thai restaurants that are truly, authentically Thai, but Ocean Thai is definately one of them. There is nothing on the menu that has disappointed me, and their tom yum Gai, my comfort soup, is perfect! Kyle

Ocean Thai is by far the best Thai dining experience (dine in or take out) in N. County San Diego, and perhaps in the whole of San Diego Co. itself. The food is excellent. From the yellow, red, green, and panang curries to pad Thai and tom tom kha (sp?), everything that I've ever had at this restaurant has been amazingly flavorful!!! The only thing I wish they had was sticky rice to eat with dinner. They only have it with mango for dessert. I love this restaurant!!! Jack

We've been going to Ocean Thai Cuisine since they opened and loved the food, the service, and the place. We are vegetarians and have bought many non-vegetarians to the restaurant and everyone have always enjoyed their yummy food. The ingredients taste super fresh and the place is casually chic with lots of authentic and beautiful pieces from Thailand (one lady working there use to have an import business for Thai furnishing). I highly recommend it to any Thai food lover or neophyte. Kathleen

Having traveled Thailand, cooked Thai food, and loved Thai food for many, many years, I consider myself a picky eater when it comes to Thai food. In my humble opinion, Ocean Thai makes delicious authentic Thai food. Their drunken noodles is delicious as is their Thai Chicken Basil. Even the casual but pleasant atmosphere is reminiscent of Thailand. Not for those looking for California style dummied down Thai food! Rob

I went to the Vista Way location on 11/26/05 and ordered yellow currey w/ chicken and masaman curry w/ chicken for take out. I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with both entrees. They don't seem to know how to prepare the food. I have been to many Thai restaurants and these are some basic dishes but they messed them up pretty bad. When we first opened the containers, you could see the oils had already seperated and were sitting on top. The yellow curry tasted more like peanut sauce than anything else. The Mussaman was more of a white color than the classic light brown and the flavor was weak on the currey as well. Both dishes had a consistancy that seemed like they had had a lot of corn starch added and everything had a slight fish odor. They really need to improve. My recommendation if you are in the area is Thai Pasta on Hacienda Drive. That is where I will be going back to. John Groth

This place has high quality Thai food with all those unusual ingredients that tell you how authentic it is. Every thing is good, service excellent, and the ambiance is very pleasant. You would never find this place except by recommendation or accident, as it is in a little strip mall next to a liquor store. My favorites are the Baton Shrimp, Tom Ka (coconut soup) and Yellow Curry.
