Yep, this place is aweful when it comes to service. The same thing happened to me..I stood at the front for 10 minutes with no one asking if I needed help. Apparently, this place is seat yourself. Finally, when a large group came in behind me after a few minutes, a waiter came up and told them to seat themselves and as he began to turn around I said I wanted to place a to go order, and he kept walking. I finally walked to the middle of the restauant, grabbed a menu off the table, and stared at the owner/manager (?) until they came and helped me. I will, however, go back to this restaurant because it was GOOD. I was smelling the food all the way home and couldnt wait to eat it. I didnt know they ate eggrolls in Thailand lol, but they were yummy. For seven bucks I had soup, eggroll, and my entree with rice. My advice, call ahead for togo and show up after 15-20 minutes and walk up to the nearest waiter and tell them you're here to pick up an order. If you dont walk up to them personally, they will ignore you.

I also have complaints about Thai Kitchen's I-35/William Cannon location. Now, the service here has never been great, but with the addition of a young male waiter - it has slipped considerably. This is what occured to my boyfriend and I the other night: We walk into the area near the cash register and the male waiter sees us there but keeps cleaning off a table. Three or four minutes later, he goes from the table towards the back, then finally comes up towards the register and after moving some papers around, he seats us. Since he seats us, we now get him as our waiter (There was another waitress there who seemed much more attentive to her tables.) My boyfriend and I sit down, and the male waiter walks off. My boyfriend asks me to get him an iced tea when the waiter comes back for the drink order, but the waiter doesn't come back for at least 5 or 6 minutes (by which time my boyfriend was back) - he does bring us water at this time. He then leaves again without asking if we wanted any sort of drinks, besides water, or taking our order. We wait almost 10 minutes before seeing him again - he is walking in from the outside smelling like smoke - he decided to take a smoke break before taking our drink or food orders. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this particular location anymore. If you want a good Thai Restaurant in the South Austin area - Sawadee on Manchaca and W. Stassney Road has good food and excellent service.

Thai Kitchen off of William Cannon/I-35 serves awesome, authentic Thai cuisine. Their menu is extensive and you will most certainly find something to your liking. The restaurant has a very casual atmosphere, so go in your jeans and flip flops and ENJOY!

I was recently in Austin, Tx and was looking for a Thai restaurant to take my family to. I wasn’t terribly familiar with Austin, but managed to find “Thai Kitchen” a bit outside of downtown. I walked in and they had some sign up that they received some sort of “Best Thai Restaurant” award from a local magazine. My family stood in the front part of the restaurant for 10 minutes. There was no sign saying “Seat yourself” or “Please wait to be seated.” There was a young guy at the register next to us…he answered the phone and I thought someone was calling the restaurant…nope…he was just chatting on his cell phone. Two adults were in the back, but kept glacing at us…so they knew we were there. There were only like 4 tables occupied, too…so it’s not like they were busy. Finally, the young guy gets off the phone…walks to the back then back up to the cash register. Nobody says anything to us. This is top 5 in the worst service I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant. This was the East William Cannon street location.
